As COO/GM, he led the turnaround of Yesmail to record profit, revenues and was instrumental in the acquisition of a key industry competitor, which positioned Yesmail as one of the top three companies in a fiercely competitive market. He oversaw all fiscal and operational aspects of the business (including Sales, Services, Marketing, Technology, Finance, and HR); supervised a six-member senior management team of VPs/department heads (including the CTO); indirectly supervised a peak team of 125 personnel; and held P&L accountability for $20.5M and 20+% margins. Over his six-year tenure he helped take the company from startup to record revenue and profits, a market leadership position, and through several acquisitions including a $380M acquisition by Netcentives.

His prior experience includes turning around Ziff-Davis France in the role of General Manager and achieving profitability one year ahead of schedule; launching Symantec in southern Europe while based in Barcelona, Spain also in the role of General Manager and taking them to a market-leading position against entrenched competition; finishing as the number one sales person worldwide for Gartner Group/Dataquest while based in Paris, France in his second year despite being new to the countries, cultures, languages and industry. He began his career at Xerox Corporation, where he was one of the company’s youngest and most recognized sales trainers and sales managers. He has served in leadership roles for companies that have dominated their markets and who have been recognized for the caliber of their sales organizations, including Xerox, Gartner Group, Symantec, Ziff-Davis, and infoUSA, which was recently named one of the top three business service industry sales organizations by Selling Power magazine. Dan holds an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business with an emphasis in Strategic Planning. He speaks Spanish, French and Italian.

Originally from Colombia and raised in the inner city, Dan is passionate about making a difference in the Hispanic community, especially with inner city youth and young professionals. His goal is to help young Hispanics to dream, plan, and win big and he sees Hispanic-Net as the perfect vehicle to accomplish this task.
