The Stanford University Board of Trustees has elected Hispanic-Net 2006 Corporate Executive of the Year and Hispanic-Net advisory board member Miriam Rivera as their latest member to the board.
Last week, Rivera received the 2008 Jerry I. Porras Latino Leadership Award from the Hispanic Business Students Association of the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

The NY TImes has reported that Microsoft plans to buy Rapt, Inc.
Microsoft plans to add Rapt’s programs to the Web publisher tools that it gained when it acquired aQuantive last year for $6 billion.
The move “puts us way ahead of what other offerings are available in the market,” Mr. Howe said, likening Microsoft with Rapt to a jet plane, with rivals, including Google, being a bicycle.
